From Within

Finally! It's done. All I have to do is add a title to this and I can print out the 20 copies of it I need. Deary me. This took 20+ hours to do. I sketched it and then I painted it in Photoshop CS. This was for a cover of our book we wrote in World Literature. Everything in this picture has meaning. The girls represent one person. They are one in the same. The left girl is the outside appearance. The right is her inner evil, or her doppelganger (subconcious passionate irrational self that interjects itself into the rational conscious self). Thus dark/light. The dolls represent their other half. The conscious self holds the doll as if she is going to drop her subconscious self, but the doll is attached to her by a string thus even if she dropped it, it would still be attached to her. The subconscious self is holding her doll and has stuck pins in it like a voodoo doll, as she can control the conscious self. The background color is purple, because in a mind it evokes mystery and mysticality. I chose to do watch gears with the background, because they are inside a clock. Also the vines on the outside, because it tangles together, which the doppelganger and her conscious self entwine together.
